BUYER FAQ

Medal FAQ

Clear answers reduce revision loops and help your sales or retail team launch with confidence.

What is the usual minimum order for custom medals?+

Many suppliers start around 100 pieces per design. The final MOQ depends on size, material, tooling, number of versions and packaging, so confirm it in the quotation.

What materials are used for custom medals?+

Zinc alloy supports detailed 3D relief, brass gives a heavier premium feel, and iron is a cost-conscious option. Stainless steel or aluminium can be quoted for special programs.

What medal size and thickness should we choose?+

A 1.75–2.5 inch (44–64 mm) medal fits many race and event programs; 3–3.5 inch formats make larger marathon statements. Standard thickness is about 2.5–4 mm, with 4–6 mm used for premium relief.

Can the ribbon, plating and colours be customized?+

Yes. Select ribbon width and length, woven or sublimated artwork, and polished, antique, two-tone or black-nickel plating. Soft, hard or transparent enamel can add controlled colour.

Can I approve a sample before bulk production?+

Yes. We provide a digital proof and can make a physical sample so the front/back artwork, relief, plating, ribbon and attachment are signed off. Typical sampling is about 7–10 days after approval.

+

The inspection checks silhouette, diameter, thickness, relief, plating/enamel colour, ribbon attachment, count and packaging against the approved reference before bulk shipment.
